Is restorative yoga helpful? Odd testimonial here. I had a looong dental session Tuesday, when two old crowns had to be removed. One crown had been made with cutting edge metal under porcelain, and was so hard the dentist needed a diamond drill to grid it down.
The process took a while; thanks to carefully placed anesthetic, I didn't feel a thing. And thanks to the yoga practice, I was able to focus on muscle groups that kept clenching, mostly in my lower back, and to consciously release them. Naturally I was tired afterwards, and so was my dentist. "I'd quit if I had to do this every day," he admitted. I know the yoga helped me not resist the situation that had to be for that moment. And I do feel perkier with that decay removed.
